Bryan Scott, the hero of our story, is in his 30s and a laid-back, calm guy. Since the death of his father, it has been difficult to face life with the usual joy. Everything seems boring, familiar and somehow anything but exciting.
But on that one evening when he unexpectedly receives a small package, his entire life is turned upside down.
Kate Williams, a treasure hunter by profession and daughter of a wealthy father. She prefers to spend her free time in foreign countries where the sun never stops shining.
She is the opposite of Bryan, daring and fearless. But maybe she leaned too far out of the window on that last job ...
Dayo is a young man who lives in a tent a few kilometers from the city of Aksum. He prefers to be alone. Every few weeks he drives with his old cross bike into town to stock up on new video games and groceries.
His mother died of pneumonia many years ago, so his little sister lives with his uncle in a village near Aksum. His father left the family when he was very young.
And of course there is Hugo, the little capuchin monkey. When he's not stealing sugar beets from neighboring plantations, he enjoys the peace and quiet in a cozy treetop.
However, since he lost his group a few years ago, he is very lonely. But someone will come who will soon keep him new company...
